Talking 3 Key Trends for Healthcare Marketers to Leverage in 2017

On this week’s episode I sat down with an associate of TopRight Partners, Will Allred, to talk about a recent blog post by TopRight founder, Dave Sutton, where he wrote about 3 key trends for healthcare marketers to leverage in 2017.  We dug into those and Will shared insight into how the marketing leader can tailor their message to best reach their clients in the marketplace and differentiate themselves from

The Midtown Business Radio studio is located within the Atlanta Plaza office suite of TopRight Partners, an Atlanta-based strategic marketing consultancy whose team of experts is focused upon helping the mid-sized to large enterprise better tell its story, employ the most effective strategy around that story, and execute systems that will transform the business for both internal and external clients.

The TopRight Partners website explains one of their core philosophies this way, “No one wants to be interrupted. Or ‘talked at.’ Or ‘sold to.’ We seek authentic. We expect relevant. And we want it only when we are good and ready for it. This calls for marketing to make a change: A change in how customers understand you, engage with you, experience you. This is called Transformational Marketing. This is how you Move TopRight.”

I recently hosted Susanne Baugh, of Q&A Events on Midtown Business Radio.  As we got to talking, she mentioned that I should meet Emma Foulkes, Presidnt of the Atlanta Gay Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.  Because the respective missions of the chambers of commerce and Business Radio X have such overlap in the business environments we serve, I was pleased to reach out to her.

As the AGLCC’s website explains, “The AGLCC exists to promote the economic growth and advancement of our LGBT and allied business members, our non-profit organizational members as well as our corporate partners and their employees, through advocacy, leadership, education and support.”

When not overseeing AGLCC activities, Emma is Managing Partner at Commonwealth Business & Retirement Services.  She’s a Certified Financial Planner, and has been advising entrepreneurs and high income earners in the Atlanta area since 2001.  She provides retirement and business transition planning services in addition to others.

Bruce Logue is Director of Networking for AGLCC, and Managing Partner/Realtor at The Corbel Group at Keller Williams.  The firm is comprised of a team of residential real estate specialists who use a unique combination of technology, creative and effective marketing, and tailored customer service to help their clients buy, sell, and invest in real estate.  The Corbel Group offers a boutique style approach to real estate services while providing world class results.

Jan Stepp has been in the promotional products business for many years, and is the founder of Pizazzz Promotions.  She shared how she takes a consultative approach with her clients to determine who they are trying to reach, the mission of their brand, and makes recommendations for how to best position themselves in front of prospects most effectively.  She is also actively involved in AGLCC, hosting the chamber’s Vinings networking events.

Pizazzz is your one stop source for creative advertising specialty, promotional items and printed materials! The company can provide literally any item you can imagine with a logo on it!  They have the perfect idea for: customer appreciation, trade show giveaways, sales meetings, grand openings, sales incentives, safety programs, open house, mail enclosures, event promotions, political campaign items, fund raising promotions, banners, table covers, labels, forms, stationary, brochures, holiday gifts, food gift items, non-profit donor gifts, embroidered and screen printed items, cards for any occasion, calendars…if it can be logoed, they have it 🙂

Pizazzz Promotions prides themselves on creative ideas, personal service, competitive pricing and on-time delivery! They work within your guidelines and budget to provide the perfect marketing and promotional items to fit your needs.

Alicyn McLeod is a CPA and Tax Partner with FinLogic, a tax and business advisory firm focused on growing service-based enterprises.  She’s an ambassador for the AGLCC as well as a corporate partner.  FinLogic employs a forward-thinking approach and their experts focus not just on where your company has been, but rather where you want your company to go.

The firm assists businesses in becoming more profitable, more streamlined and helps them resolve technical issues associated with financial reporting, taxation, debt acquisition and capital acquisition strategies.  Whether you are in the process of starting your own business, selling your business or are somewhere in between, the professionals at FinLogic have the experience you need to navigate the issues faced in today’s business world.

Amirakal Marketing

We talked about marketing your business with Amirakal Marketing’s Brandon Adams and Your Video Viewer’s Louis Rosas.  Amirakal Marketing offers a full suite of services for businesses seeking to increase their brand awareness in the community, including PR, promotional products, logo design, marketing services, videography, and others.

Brandon explained how Amirakal Marketing created their unique name by combining the names of his children, playing on the fact that he views them as miracles.  We talked about how the company started out focusing on providing promotional products as a business, but saw an opportunity to expand on that as customers asked if they could help in other aspects of marketing.

Since expanding to be a full-service marketing and PR company, Amirakal Marketing has worked with numerous well-known celebrities, helping them craft their logos and market themselves and their work.  The firm has worked with notables such as Tony Terry and Tanya Bush.

Your Video Viewer is a software company that gives companies who post video and podcast content online the ability to get user information for everyone who accesses these files.  Their platform provides subscribers IP address, email address, and often, phone numbers for each person who clicks the links to check out posted content.  The business can then follow up with those users with more direct communication and calls to action.

Your Video Viewer provides its users with a CRM platform through which they can push information to consumers of their video and audio content, whether it’s hosted on Your Video Viewer’s platform or on the company’s website/social media.

Experiential Marketing

Experiential Marketing

This week I sat down with experiential marketing expert, Stu Sheldon of Escalate.  Stu spent several years building brands for Coca Cola, including Mello Yello.  Like that refrigerator pack your 12 pack comes in?  Coca Cola introduced that idea and tested it with the Mello Yello brand with impressive success.  Stu shared some excellent information about the difference between paid advertising campaigns and experiential marketing.

In an economy where every dollar counts, companies that are seeking to increase frequency a customer purchases their product or service as well as adding new customers can often gain greater results through an experiential marketing approach.  Stu talked about the fact that even in situations where a company has an advertising agency that has produced creative material, Escalate can collaborate with company and agency to build on what has been created to “Make it come to life”.

Stu explained that while even a small company can benefit from experiential marketing, they typically work with mid-sized to large companies seeking to expand brand awareness.  They have an impressive list of success stories from Coca Cola to non-profit organizations.  Check out this great episode–I think you’ll find it both informative and interesting!
